Police are searching for a man who broke a front window of a Rome gas station in an attempt to take the ATM from inside the store, according to Floyd County Police reports.

According to the report:

Officers responded to an alarm at the Fast Trip No. 2 at 9522 Alabama Highway early Wednesday morning and found the front window shattered and the ATM damaged.

After the owner arrived, officers viewed the store’s security camera footage which showed a man backing up an early 2000’s model Chevy Silverado to the front of the store and breaking the window with a metal bar.

He then proceeded to hook the ATM to the truck and pull the machine through the window. The action proved unsuccessful and the vehicle left the scene.

The report indicated that the truck was possibly tan or gold in color.
