The Southerland’s held an open house this past Friday night to introduce the new restaurant to the community. The Main Street Bistro will actually open for lunch on Monday, November 12.
“We don’t really have any plans for the Sage Cottage yet, we haven’t resolved insurance issues,” Southerland said. The idea was to do something we could open quickly so that we could maintain a presence in the community.”
The menu will be light featuring sandwiches, with Boars Head cold cuts, salads and soups. The Bistro will also feature individual pizzas. The Friday and Saturday evening menu will be strong on pasta will specials which will include prime rib on the first Friday, November 16th.
Jim Southerland said he had hoped to open today, November 5 but that some of the equipment that was coming out of the Northeast was delayed by the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
The Main Street Bistro will be open Monday through Fri-day for lunch 11 a.m. until 2:30 along with Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-9 p.m. We’re not going to do Sundays at the moment,” Southerland said.
