Sammy Rich, Rome’s assistant city manager, has been named to the Leadership Georgia Class of 2013.

Leadership Georgia is a 40-year-old organization of community and state leaders. Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Georgia trains and builds a network of young leaders from across the state. Past participants include former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn and former University of Georgia Athletic Director Vince Dooley.

Sixty-three participants are selected each year from a pool of several hundred applicants. Class members visit five Georgia communities in a year-long exchange of ideas and experiences about important issues affecting the state.

The 2013 Class of Leadership Georgia will be led by incoming president Alex Wayne of Flowery Branch. This class will travel to Brasstown Valley, Dublin, Jekyll Island, Dahlonega and Marietta.
