Chevrolet has pulled the keys from the Riverside dealership in Cedartown.

Owner John Welborn said Monday that after Chevrolet went through bankruptcy that General Motors decided that it did not like “unauthorized dual establishments,” and that is what Welborn has had at the Cedartown location where he also has been selling Fords and Mercurys.

Fords are “running wide open,” according to Welborn, who said that Ford borrowed private capital in late 2008 and that the company was successfully repaying that debt.

Welborn also confirmed today that barring a change of philosophy, Cadillac will pull its vehicles from his Rome dealership Oct. 31, 2010.

Cadillac has taken on a corporate policy of not being in markets where there are no other major upscale vehicle dealerships such as Lexus, BMW or Mercedes.

Welborn will continue to offer Cadillacs for the next 11 months along with Chevrolets and Hyundais from the location off U.S. 411 east.

I did some checking. The old GM stock ticker symbol is no longer valid. It has been changed to MTLQQ.PK which is Motors Liquidation Company. The old General Motors Corporation is no more. There are warnings all over the internet stating that if you want GM stock and it links you to MTLQQ.PK that it is NOT GM stock and you are not buying a part of GM.

So the old saying "American as Chevrolet, apple pie and baseball" is now a fraud.

Ford stock symbol F is still valid.

Small town dealerships made Chevy.

How lame is it that Cadillac leaves Rome?

What's next, apple pie and baseball?
