Kim Davis, executive director of the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, has been named a Human Services Board-Certified Practitioner by the Center for Credentialing & Education. She has also been elected to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Network to End Sexual Assault (GNESA).

Born and raised in Floyd County, Davis is a graduate of Rome High School. She started her career in 1999 as a probation officer with the Department of Juvenile Justice. In 2004, she was hired by the Sexual Assault Center as the victim advocate. Five years later, she was named executive director of the Center.

Davis holds a B.A. in Psychology from Ashford University and an M.S. in Human Services from Capella University. A Judicial Citizen Review Panel Member for Floyd County, she is also currently working on her Doctorate in Forensic Psychology. She and her husband Michael, a firefighter for the City of Rome,

have two daughters, ages 6 and 8.

The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) created the Human Services – Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP™) with the assistance of the National Organization for Human Services (NOHS) in consultation with the Council for Standards in Human Service Education (CSHSE). The credentialing process was designed for human services practitioners seeking to advance their careers by acquiring independent verification of their practical knowledge and educational background.

Applicants holding a bachelor’s or advanced degrees obtain the HS-BCP™ credential through an independent review of their qualifications. Approval is based upon demonstrating the achievement of the required educational and professional experience and by passing a national examination developed by human services practitioners for human services practitioners.
