After enduring a cold-shooting first half, the Shorter men found a groove in the second half to earn a home win in Gulf South Conference action.

Shorter shot just 33 percent from the field in the first half while scoring 15 points. But the Hawks scored 41 second-half points while erasing a 13-point halftime deficit.

Anthony Banks and Dedric Ware finished with 14 points each. Ware had seven rebounds and four assists.

Walter Hill had 13 points and four steals, and Kenny Leverette had 12 points.

Shorter shot 59 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes, and went 13-for-14 from the free throw line.

Up next for the Hawks is a visit to North Alabama on Jan. 17.
