Shorter University improved to 5-0 after a close four set victory over Bryan College on Thursday evening. Game scores were 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, and 25-23.

Junior, Jennifer Campbell totaled 11 kills on the evening, followed by Anna Graham who garnered 10, and hit .333 for the Lady Hawks.

The Lady Hawks trailed 23-17 to open the first set, but two kills from Bryan's side shut down Shorter, 20-25. Determined to stop the Lady Lions, Shorter found them selves in a 19-17 set. A Lady Lions error paired with kills from Jasmine Crook, Leslie Welch and Campbell left the Lady Hawks on top, 25-21.

Set three brought another early lead for Shorter, 20-14, after errors by Bryan built up to favor the Lady Hawks. Graham, Crook and Kelsey Kirk secured kills for Shorter, and a handful of more Lady Lion errors gave Shorter a second win, 25-16.

The final set caused much excitement as both teams went toe-to-toe, 23-23, with the final two points being won by Shorter after an attack error by Bryan's Rebecca Adams, and a kill by Campbell, with an assist to Jordan Corder.

Shorter will visit Valdosta State next at 4pm on September 13.
