Laura Banks, a sophomore at Shorter College, has been selected to receive a UPS Scholarship.

Banks is the daughter of Mike and Karen Banks of Manchester, Ga., and a 2008 graduate of Manchester High School.

She is majoring in biology, and plays for the Shorter College Hawks softball and basketball teams.

The Georgia Foundation for Independent Colleges, a Foundation of Independent Higher Education affiliated state association, distributed $2,700 in UPS Scholarship funds to Shorter College. These scholarships are awarded annually to students selected as UPS Scholars.
