David Hester of Summerville recently won $31,155 dollars in Fantasy 5 from the Georgia Lottery. His win, from a free ticket, was his second in the past two years. In 2007, he won $30,000 in an instant game.

“It’s exciting,” said Hester, who won his free ticket by matching two of five winning numbers in a previous drawing.

According to Hester, 51, his prior winnings were used for home improvements, including a new roof and front porch. He’s still deciding how to spend his latest prize.

“I don’t know yet,” he said. “I’ll probably work on my house some more.”

Hester, a maintenance worker, is married with three children. His daughter is attending Georgia Northwestern Technical College with the lottery-funded HOPE Grant.

“HOPE is helping out a lot,” Hester said.

Winning numbers for the Oct. 22 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 3-21-26-32-39. Two additional jackpot tickets for the drawing were purchased in Augusta and Savannah.

Hester received his Quik Pik ticket at Mr. C’s in Armuchee. The store will receive a $667 retailer incentive bonus.
