Floyd County police are asking the public to avoid the rail-road crossing on Park Avenue in Lindale Thursday due to work on the railroad.
Sgt. Gary Conway, head of the Floyd County Police Department’s Selective Enforcement Unit, said the crossing near Old Rockmart Road will be shut down from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
He said there would be very limited traffic allowed through the crossing during this time.
Detour signs will be posted directing motorists to use Booze Mountain Road or Eden Valley Road if approaching from the south and Old Rockmart Road if approaching from the North.
Conway said Norfolk Southern will be doing some repairs to the tracks.
