What is the primary purpose of your business?
The mission of The Season is to create events that connect people to each other. The purpose is to plan corporate and social events for businesses and individuals.
What is your business background?
I have been working as a marketing and design professional in Rome for the last 12 years. Ive planned events as part of my professional responsibilities and have planned social events for friends and family. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Berry College with a major in communications and then earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Kennesaw State University with a focus in marketing. My education and experience blend perfectly to create tasteful, elegant events for businesses and individuals.
Why did you start this particular business?
Most people are already busy with their daily schedules and often dont have the time to devote to creating a first-class event. Events require a lot of research to create just the right setting while also staying within budget. Putting together an event also requires time man-agement skills. Many events are well-thought in the beginning, and then theres a rush to get everything finished or set-up on-time. Thats when budgets get stretched. Having a profes-sional assist with the planning every step of the way is invaluable, especially when it comes to staying on budget, and getting all the pieces in place at the event itself.
Ultimately, I started the business with the mission to connect people to each other. Often, when a person is the coordinator or host of an event, they dont have the opportunity to really enjoy themselves during their reception or party. Having a professional take care of all the little details frees the coordinator so he or she can actually be a guest at their own event.
What makes your business unique?
The Season was created to be the premier professional event planning company in the area. I designed a business plan that includes insurance, certifications, and professional memberships in trade associations. I think about events every day how to make them better, what detail might make the event better, who is the best vendor for a specific task. I do not believe in doing things half-heartedly, so The Season strives to always conduct business professionally.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession?
I most enjoy seeing the happy faces of my clients when their event begins everything is in place, on-time, within budget, and just as they envisioned.
What has been the biggest or most interesting challenge to overcome as a small business owner?
The biggest challenge has been marketing my own business while also producing the events. I get so excited about creating an event for a client that I often forget to market myself! My business is growing, and Im excited about every challenge and opportunity that Im blessed enough to have!
Is there anything else youd like to share with our readers?
All special events require planning, and hiring a professional can make the process go a lot smoother. The fees associated with hiring The Season are very reasonable, and the reduced stress for the client is often well-worth the expense.
