Owners of The Waterclub Restaurant, 18 Broad Street, in Cave Spring have made what they call a difficult decision to close the Waterclub for regular dining, however Jeff Myers said there will be one last farewell dinner Thursday November 1.

He is also leaving the door open to hosting dinner parties by reservation only at the restaurant in Cave Spring.

Myers and his wife K.C. Myers notified many of their regular customers of the decision to eliminate a regular schedule via a posting on Facebook.

“We worked long and hard to try to create a social dining experience for Cave Spring, Georgia. I have learned it takes a community to raise a child, and a strong team to operate a restaurant,” Myers posted.

“I have met amazing people, learned a great deal in small town business, and cherish the very many beautiful moments serving you. I must return to my family, my health, and my restaurant in Atlanta.”

The couple actually operates two restaurants in Atlanta, the Top Flr, 674 Myrtle Street, and Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Avenue.

Jeff Myers said a flap with the Cave Spring council over alleged violations of the Cave Spring alcohol ordinance this past summer didn’t impact his decision to close the restaurant and in fact, the press generated by the issue may have actually drawn positive attention to the business.
