The advisory will continue all day Monday for most of the north and central parts of the state. The combination of Hurricane Sandy along the mid-Atlantic coast and high pressure building south from Canada will result in strong gusty winds across the area, according to the National Weather Service.
A wind advisory means sustained speeds of at least 20 mph or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this strong will make driving especially hazardous for high-profile vehicles.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
