A Tennessee man and woman were arrested early Tuesday after police reportedly found several plastic bags of methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as a yellow hard plastic case containing items used to manufacture meth, after a traffic stop.
According to Rome police and Floyd County Jail records:
Gary Lamar Purvis, 38, of 2603 Ridgecrest
Drive in Chattanooga, and Jennifer Barrett Parrish, 34, of 12300 Waters Edge Lane in Harrison, Tenn., were arrested and charged with felony possession of meth and intent to manufacture meth.
Police pulled over a blue 1980s-model Chevrolet truck driven by Purvis near Turner Chapel Road on the bypass around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning. After asking for consent to search the truck, officers found several bags of meth and chemicals used to manufacture meth in the bed of the truck.
The pair were also charged with misdemeanor drug-related objects and possession of marijuana. Purvis was additionally charged with driving with a revoked license.
Both remain in jail without bail.
