A one-vehicle wreck on Buttermilk Road near Cave Spring late Wednesday night resulted in three people being sent to Floyd Medical Center, police said.

One of those three, Stephanie Warren, 36, of Centre, Ala., remained in critical condition at Floyd Medical Center on Thursday night. Two teenaged boys, aged 14 and 16 from Centre, were also reported to have been injured in the wreck. Their conditions were not available.

According to police and firefighters at the scene Wednesday night, Warren’s Dodge Caravan left the roadway in the 1600 block of Buttermilk Road around 9:50 p.m. The van slammed head-on into a large oak tree after Warren tried to negotiate a left hand curve.

There were also several dogs in the minivan, and neighbors assisted in taking care of the animals as EMTs tended to the injured people.
