Unity Christian School Announces STAR Student

Zachary LeMaster, a senior at Unity Christian School, has been selected as the school’s STAR Student for 2013. The announcement was made recently by Keith Thompson, Partner in Advance Rehailitation and Member of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, at a special student assembly at Unity Christian School. Zack, the son of Ronald and Karen LeMaster, selected Mrs. Donna Bojo, his Advanced Placement Calculus teacher at UCS, as his STAR Teacher.

LeMaster will graduate in May from Unity Christian School with a College Preparatory Diploma. He has been accepted to Auburn University. He has also been accepted to Shorter University where he has been offered the Alfred Shorter Scholarship. He is currently deciding whether to pursue studies in

Criminal Justice or Architecture.

In addition to being a diligent scholar, LeMaster swims competitively with the Three Rivers Swim Club, a local USA Swimming Club. Zack qualified to compete at the 2012 Georgia Senior State Short Course Championship Meet, held at Georgia Tech on December 8, 2012, in the 100 yard back stroke event.

LeMaster plans on continuing his swimming career during his college years.

Unity Christian School is very proud of both Mr. LeMaster and Mrs. Bojo and the pursuit of academic excellence they exemplify at UCS.

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) award, sponsored by the Georgia Chamber

of Commerce, the Georgia Department of Education and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, is presented to a high school senior with the school’s highest SAT score and ranking in the top ten percent or top ten members of the school’s senior class.

Each STAR Student selects his or her STAR Teacher in the recognition program.
