Walker County finalizes Syntec expansion; 60 new jobs added to the LaFayette plant

On Thursday, the Walker County Development Authority finalized a deal that will ensure 60 news jobs for the city of LaFayette.

“We are so glad to finally have the agreement in place for our partners at Syntec,” said Walker County economic development director Larry Brooks. “It took a little time, but the agreement will provide wonderful benefits for the community.”

Earlier in the year, the development authority began working with Syntec Industries to put together a package to incentivize the company to invest about $3 million worth of new equipment, along with the creation of the new jobs, in its LaFayette carpet plant.
