Georgia Highlands College has appointed three new directors for its teaching sites in Marietta, Dallas and Douglasville.

Kirk Nooks will serve as the director of site operations in Marietta on the Southern Polytechnic State University campus, replacing Brent Griffin, who will return to his fulltime professoriate in August.

Nooks currently serves as dean of student development at Northern Virginia Community College on the Loudon campus in Sterling, Virginia. He holds a doctorate in higher education administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management Engineering from Mercer University in Macon.

Cathy Ledbetter has been named director of site operations for the new Dallas/Paulding site, which opens in August for the fall 2009 semester.

She currently works as assistant to the president for planning, assessment and grants at Middle Georgia College in Cochran. She holds a doctorate in higher education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She also possesses a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Science from Columbus State University (Georgia).

Ken Reaves, the current director of human resources at Georgia Highlands, will serve as director of site operations at Douglasville. He holds a Master of Public Personnel Management from Troy State University in Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Tennessee/Knoxville.

The Dallas/Paulding County and Douglasville/Douglas County sites are part of the latest expansion at GHC. The Dallas site is slated to open this fall, and the college is currently enrolling students there. College administrators are working to secure the site in Douglasville, but are still targeting a fall opening.
