A man accused of shooting another in Cartersville on Tuesday now faces three aggravated assault charges, according to Cartersville police.

Mark Harris, 53, was arrested Tuesday and originally charged with only one count of aggravated assault.

Additionally, the charge of misdemeanor marijuana possession charge has been filed against Parker Harris, age 17, of 110 Maple Drive. The marijuana and other drug related items were located during the execution of a search warrant at the residence.

Both suspects turned themselves in late Wednesday afternoon and have been released on bond.

The Cartersville Police Department is investigating a shooting which occurred at approximately 1:35 p.m. Tuesday at a residence located at 110 Maple Drive in Cartersville.

The victim came to the residence to confront someone there in reference to that individual having taken the victim’s daughter to go buy drugs.

At some point, the victim, Tony Collum, age 44, and the father of the subject at the residence, Mark Harris, age 53, got into a physical altercation. During the altercation, Collum was shot three times at close range with a .32 caliber handgun.

The alleged shooter, Mark Alan Harris, was on scene when police arrived and has been taken into custody. Two other subjects have been detained for questioning.

Collum was treated and released from Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

Harris is being charged with Aggravated Assault. He is in custody at the Bartow County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.
