The bride is the daughter of Konda Dizon of Cedartown and Mario Dizon of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Ruth Glenn of Cedartown and the late Raymond Glenn and Patricino Dizon.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Dodd of Cedartown. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jackson of Cedartown, Larry Pruitt of Cedartown and Brenda Dodd of Rockmart.
The Reverend Keith Arp of Cedartown performed the double-ring ceremony.
Pillar candles and fresh foliage filled the baptistry with four candelabra accented with fresh foliage that framed the wedding party. Globes and candles adorned with fresh foliage were placed in each church window. Memory candles were placed at the altar in memory of the bride’s grandfather, her grandmother and the groom’s grandmother. Moss-covered wreaths with the couple’s initials were hung from black streamers on the front door of the sanctuary.
A program of wedding music was provided by singers Marvin Williams, Missy Lundy and Blake Dodd, brother of the groom. Selections included “In This Very Room,” “A Parent’s Prayer,” “Friends,” “Holy Ground,” “When God Made You,” and “Trumpet Voluntary.”
The matron of honor was Heather Ball of Cedartown, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Leslie Baldwin, cousin of the bride, Sandra Busch, Larissa Carter, Marla Frasier, aunt of the bride, Adrienne Hackney, Meredith McLendon, Megan Ruppert, all of Cedartown and Kristen Forston of Clarksville, Tenn.
The attendants wore floor-length black chiffon dresses with matching pearl earrings, gifts from the bride. They carried arm bouquets of white calla lilies tied with champagne satin.
The junior bridesmaids were Gracie Ball, niece of the bride and Evie Drew Frasier, niece of the groom, both of Cedartown. They wore black satin floor-length dresses and carried arm bouquets of white calla lilies tied with champage satin.
The flower girl, Elyn Beau Frasier of Cedartown, wore a black leotard and black tutu. She carried a bouquet of ivory miniature calla lilies with black accents.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. Her gown was a flare with a dropped asymmetrical waistline with a soft ruching that accentuated her waist. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and a corset back and the waist was adorned with an antique ivory belt, hand-beaded with crystals and pearls. The skirt had draped panels of raw edged Vicenza organza that had rippled folds and a pattern of swirl that fell into a chapel train. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory miniature calla lilies wrapped in black satin. She wore a pair of diamond earrings given to her by the groom as a wedding gift.
The groom was attired in a black tie tuxedo with tails, black shoes and a white shirt with black bow tie. He wore a miniature calla boutonniere. Blake Dodd of Cedartown, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Ben Ball, brother-in-law of the bride, Kyle Camp, Patrick Dixon, brother of the bride, Kenny Dodd, uncle of the groom, David Frasier, uncle of the groom, Matt Pruitt, uncle of the groom and Brandon Crawford, all of Cedartown.
Beau Ball, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
The mother of the bride chose a one-shoulder, floor-length, dark champagne gown with black overlay. She wore a pearl bracelet and earrings as well as black shoes.
The mother of the groom chose a black one-shoulder, floor-length chiffon dress accented with a crystal brooch and a pearl bracelet with black, strapless heel. Both mothers carried bouquets of ivory miniature calla lilies.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Cherokee Golf and Country Club in Cedartown. The bride’s cake was a five-tier stacked round cake with alternating flavors of marble, chocolate, red velvet and yellow with cream cheese and buttercream with icing accented in black. The groom’s cake was a square strawberry with cream cheese and buttercream icing decorated in a Tennessee Volunteers theme.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party at The Backwoods in Buchannan.
Other prenuptial parties included a bridesmaids luncheon hosted by Mrs. Lee Denny Gammage at her home in Cedartown. A bridal shower was given by friends and family at the Cherokee Golf and Country Club in Cedartown. Family and friends of Young’s Grove Church hosted a bridal shower in August. The couple’s engagement party was hosted by the bride and groom’s family at Mellow Mushroom in Rome.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple will reside in Cedartown.
