Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ratliff of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Denise Ratliff, to Jackson Greene Abercrombie of Silver creek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Abercrombie.

Miss Ratliff is a 2006 graduate of Model High School. She graduated from Shorter University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She is now employed at Model High School.

The bride-elect is the sister of Tifany LeVerne of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brown of Kingston, Mary Nell Ratliff of Rome and the late Henry Ratliff.

Abercrombie is a 2005 graduate of Pepperell High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Shorter College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Sports Management. As an undergraduate, Abercrombie played on shorter’s inaugural football team and was on the 2008 Mid-South Conference Championship team. He then received his master’s degree in business administration from Shorter University in 2011. He is employed at Greater Rome Bank in Mortgage Administration.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. O.D. Manning Jr. of Rome and the late Mr. and Mrs. William L. Abercrombie.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. A reception will be held at the Rome Civic Center. Formal invitations will be sent.
