Mrs. Timothy James Stover
The bride is the daughter of Ronnie and Darlene Thomas of Calhoun. She is the granddaughter of Calvin and Shirley Thomas of Plainville, Joyce Waits of Calhoun, and the late Allen Talley of Rome.
The groom is the son of James and Krista Stover of Rome. He is the grandson of Rev. Paul T. Stover of Rome, the late Margaret Stover of Rome, and the late Oscar and Wilma Wilbanks.
The Rev. Charles Izell performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar adorned with columns draped with white tulle and arrangements of pink larkspur, snaps, hydrangea, roses, and white alstroemeria on top. A shepherd’s hook was featured in the center holding a symbolic cord of three strands that was united by the bride and groom during the ceremony.
A program of wedding music was provided by pianist David Nix and guitarist Daniel Thomas, brother of the bride. Selections included “Ave Maria,” “Canon in D,” “Bridal Chorus,” “Wedding March,” and “A Thousand Years”, a duet performed by the bride and groom.
The maid of honor was Bianca Rangel of Rome and the matron of honor was Merecia Thomas of Raeford, N.C., sister-in-law of the bride. The bridesmaid was Natoshia Leight of Dalton. The attendants wore floor-length pink rose petal chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of white hydrangea, hot pink roses and white alstroemeria.
The flower girl, Hanna Muse of Calhoun, cousin of the bride, wore a floor length white satin dress and carried a white satin basket adorned with pearls and filled with light pink and white flower petals.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white A-line cap sleeve lace over satin gown with illusion back. The empire waist was adorned with intricate beaded detail and the gown featured a chapel length train. She wore a fingertip length two-tiered veil embellished with a beaded stitched edge. Her bouquet consisted of pink hydrangea, hot pink roses, white alstroemeria, light pink roses, and white gerbera daisies.
The groom was attired in a black tuxedo with a white shirt, vest and bow tie. He wore a light pink rose boutonniere. James Stover, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Rhett Culpepper and Casey Jones of Rome. The groomsmen and father of the bride wore black tuxedos with white shirts and black vests and bow ties. They wore hot pink rose boutonnieres. Drew Davey, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
The mother of the bride chose a sage sleeveless, tea length dress with a beaded embellished front and a semi-sheer jacket. The mother of the groom wore a silver satin sleeveless grown with an embroidered three-quarter sleevedjacket.
Both mothers wore white rose corsages.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Rome Area History Museum. The bride’s cake was a three-tiered stacked round cake with alternating flavors of strawberry and white with buttercream icing, decorative scroll work, and fresh pink hydrangea. The groom’s cake was a square red velvet with cream cheese icing decorated with a Boston Red Sox theme.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party at Red Lobster in Rome.
Other prenuptial parties included a bridesmaid’s luncheon at La Marie’s in Rome hosted by the bride, a groomsmen breakfast at Chick-fil-a Dwarf House in Rome hosted by the groom. A couple’s shower hosted by Julie Raines and Becky Davey, aunt and cousin of the groom, at The Calhoun Historical Society. A couple’s shower hosted by Faye and Paula Stover, aunts of the groom at Paula Stover’s home in Euharlee. A couple’s shower hosted by the groom’s church at Armuchee Church of God in Rome. A miscellaneous shower held by the bride’s family and church at Northwood Baptist Church in Shannon. A lingerie shower hosted by the maid and matron of honor at the bride’s home.
After a wedding trip to Key West, Fla., the couple resides in Adairsville.
