Curtis and Joyce Folsom celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 25, 2012.

Mrs. Folsom is the former Joyce Jeannell Forsyth.

The Folsoms were married on Aug. 26, 1962 at 4 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist church in Bartow County. The Rev. Bennie Burgess performed the ceremony.

Mrs. Folsom is retired. Her hobbies include watching television and cooking as well as spending time with her grandchildren.

Mr. Folsom retired from the floral business where he worked for 56 years. He is a lifetime member of the National Home Gardening Club.

The Folsoms have four children: Bryan Folsom of Kingsport, Tenn., Leigh-ann Cox of Taylorsville, Kristi Keasthley of Calhoun and Ty Folsom of Rome.

The have ten grandchildren.

They celebrated their anniversary with a reception given by their children and grandchildren at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

The Folsoms say the key to a successful marriage is trusting in the Lord. They always give each other the benefit of the doubt and they never go to bed angry at one another.
