Shirley and Tommy Hester
Mrs. Hester is the former Shirley Rogers.
They were married on Aug. 28, 1962 at the Shorter Avenue Baptist church by the Rev. Howard Holcomb.
Mrs. Hester worked at Wyatt’s and Battey Machinery. Mr. Hester retired from General Electric.
The couple have two children, Jennifer Talley and Jeff Hester, both of Rome. They have six grandchildren.
They are members of Shorter Avenue Baptist church.
The couple celebrated their anniversary at their home surrounded by family. A trip is planned at a later date with their children and grandchildren.
