For the second straight year, the USTA Georgia 10-Under Sport Court Tour, in cooperation with the Coosa Valley Tennis Association, will make a stop in Rome for the final First Friday Concert Series this Friday in the 200 block of Broad Street from 6 to 11 p.m.

The event will give children and adults an opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to play on a specially made 36-foot court designed specifically to promote the national USTA 10-Under program.

Instead of having to learn the game with adult equipment on an adult court, which has been the case in the past, children can know be introduced to tennis with every aspect of it being scaled down.

Children will also have the opportunity to learn more about the CVTA’s junior program and the upcoming USTA Play Day sponsored by the CVTA to be held Sept. 29 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Rome-Floyd Tennis Center.

The Play Day is for all junior players ages 18 and younger and will include games, prizes and refreshments. For details contact Pam Peal at 706-346-7646 or at rtennis@coosavalleytennis.com.
