Man charged with theft from car

A Floyd County man was arrested Monday and charged with stealing items out of a parked car.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jason Nathaniel Pope Jr., 19, of 17 New York Ave., was arrested by county police and charged with felony entering an automobile with intent to commit theft and misdemeanor counts of theft by taking and criminal trespass.

Police said Pope entered a car at a Pleasant Valley Road address, put several items in his backpack and left.
