Report: Trion man led police on 100 mph chase

Floyd County police arrested a man early this morning who sped away after police attempted to stop him for loud music at Ga. 1 and Cordle Drive, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Paul Hix Elrod, 47, of 56 Marsh Ave., Trion, was driving at speeds greater than 100 mph, ran stop signs and drove on the wrong side of the road, nearly hitting another vehicle.

He is charged with misdemeanor speeding, failure to maintain lane, passing in a no passing zone, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, reckless driving, no insurance, loud music, suspended registration, driving with a suspended or revoked license and obstruction. Police have also charged Elrod with fleeing or attempting to elude.
