It’s nickel-and-dime stuff, of course, saving on the gas used to run around and similar, but with all jobs and salaries saved and making a 10-hour day palatable with three-day weekends all the time. A lot of people would go for that kind of schedule … and a lot more government workers may see it in the future. Heck, other than those in offices that deal with emergencies that arise at any time (police, fire, jail and so forth) there may well be a lot of light/heating bills that can be cut back this way.
Of course, those employed in the private sector might get annoyed if needing some government service for personal reasons and finding that on Fridays the “Gone fishin’” sign is on the door.
