The party will take place on the 200 block of Broad Street from 6 to 11 p.m. Traffic on Broad Street will be shut down between Second and Third avenues beginning at 3 p.m.
Three bands — Jerry on the Moon, Curiosity Shoppe and KneckDown — will be featured on the stage that will be set up in front of Lee’s Furniture in the northbound lane of Broad Street. A wide variety of children’s activities, from inflatables to a miniature train to Rome Shriners will be located near the intersection of Broad Street and Third Avenue.
Traffic should be restored southbound almost immediately after the event is over, however, it will take some time to take down the stage and permit northbound traffic to flow normally.
Downtown Development Director Ann Arnold and her staff will be delivering 16-ounce souvenir drink cups to the five restaurants in the 200 block — LaMarie’s at Magretta Hall, Mellow Mushroom, Harvest Moon Café, Johnny’s New York Style Pizza, and Curlee’s Fish House and Oyster Bar.
Anyone desiring adult beverages will have to purchase them to drink at tonight’s event. Concertgoers will be able to bring in coolers with soft drinks and water.
