Traffic stop yields arrest on drug charges

A traffic stop on Cave Spring Road on Friday night ended with the arrest of two Rome men on drug charges after a pipe was found in the car, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

Gary Fitzgerald Collins, 45, of 244 Park Road, unit D1, and Billy Joe Jarren, 58, of 218 Carpenter Road, were both jailed by Floyd County police after officers found a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine inside.

Reports stated that a set of scales was also found and claimed by Jarren.

Both men were jailed on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug related objects.
