A Rome woman was in jail Sunday, facing charges of having suspected methamphetamine and drug-related objects, according to Floyd County jail and Rome police reports.

According to the reports:

Vanessa Whiteside, 33, of 8 Webster St., was charged with possession to sell, deliver, distribute or provide a minor with a drug related object, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.

A housekeeper for a hotel on Grace Drive was cleaning Whiteside’s room on Saturday and saw a stun gun and suspected methamphetamine on her bedside table and called police.

After police arrived they found the stun gun — which Whiteside said she had for self-defense — and a blue pill that Whiteside admitted was a Xanax. Police searched her belongings and found a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue, a grinder, a small bag of marijuana and cigar wraps.

The stun gun was also confiscated as evidence.
