Let me see if I understand your meaning. God has a plan for the outcome of the next presidential election. But if Voter IDs are required to be eligible to vote then God's plan will not happen. Thus, Republicans who want to insure the validity of all votes cast are somehow trumping God's plan.

Tommie, your editorial is insulting to minorities. Your excuse plays out as minorities are unable to get an ID because they are either #1 too poor to afford one or #2 to ignorant to obtain an ID. Are you saying whites are far more intelligent and have the means to afford and ID? Think about this argument. Every time hear this, I want to scream WAKE UP SHEEP! Georgia has free ID's to vote. Those without birth certificates have the ability to get an ID to vote. Heck, how did these people get someplace to even register to vote when they supposedly have no access to get to the BMV office to get an ID ??? But lets say there are access issues. Let's just then invest in that purple ink and everyone gets their thumb inked when they vote. But I still think someone will complain this is intrusive.

I will try to explain this so that even those with the most difficulty can understand. If a valid legal ID is not required to vote, one can vote repeatedly in multiple districts by claiming to be someone else. One can vote as one's self and then maybe vote as one's dead father who has recently passed away and has not been removed from the rolls. One can move right before election time and produce two different power bills; each showing a different address and vote twice. There are numerous ways to commit voter fraud.

Now if you say "There is no evidence that voter fraud is occurring," perhaps you should consider that those who wish to commit voter fraud do not do it openly. They keep it a secret. Just because it isn't discovered does not mean that it is not occurring.

It is not difficult to obtain an ID. If you are so lacking in ability that you cannot get yourself to the DMV one time within FOUR YEARS to obtain an ID, then in my opinion, you need to stay home on election day.

Here are the words of Mike Turazi...He's the GOP leader in Pennsylvania. A state which enacted one of the strictest Voter ID laws in the country.

177 people have been convicted -- not just accused, but convicted -- of voting fraudulently in the Senate race. Another 66 are awaiting trial.

And those are just the ones they've gone after so far!

Investigation after investigation in state after state reveal that actual cases of voter fraud account for less than .01% of .01% of voters.

In Pennsylvania the state admitted there have been no recent prosecutions or even investigations of in-person voter fraud.

Yet they are attempting to deny voters their rights by requiring an ID that remarkably only lower income minority voters do not have. Imagine that coincidence
