Woman charged with obstruction

A Rome woman was charged on Friday after she allegedly attempted to fight off police officers and medical personnel officials who were trying to restrain her at Floyd Medical Center, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Dawn Jeanette Harshaw, 35, of 100 Cliffview Drive, was charged with two felony counts of obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers, a felony count of interference with government property, three misdemeanor counts of obstruction of emergency medical personnel officials and misdemeanors simple assault and simple battery.

Harshaw allegedly damaged a hospital wall during her efforts to break free of the officials.

She remained in jail on Friday night without bond.
