One woman was charged with failure to yield after a wreck snarled traffic on Shorter Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Pfc. Lee Bowden of the Rome Police Department:

Angela O’Neal was attempting to make a left turn onto Sherwood Road from Shorter Avenue when her 2001 Nissan Pathfinder was struck by a 2001 Toyota Tacoma driven by Lindsay Hardin. Hardin was traveling east on Shorter Avenue in the outside lane.

The traffic light had just turned yellow, Bowden said.

O’Neal was taken to Floyd Medical Center with a wrist injury. She was cited with failure to yield.
