Time is passing by and the Adairsville Seventh-day Adventist Church is excited about preparations being made for Adairsville’s very first Health Expo scheduled for Sunday, September 23 from 2 – 6 p.m.

They have joined together with Calhoun’s Gordon Hospital and the American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia in response to the growing epidemic of lifestyle diseases such as obesity, heart disease and dementia; and the growing concern of natural disasters and how to prepare for emergencies.

Guests will have the opportunity to join “InStep For Life,” a national walking club, or sign up for classes such as “Breath Free,” which encourages and helps people stop smoking, vegan cooking classes with Dr. Kanomata and family juicing classes and more.

Entrance is free and the entire family is encouraged to come.

The health expo will take place at Mannington Mill Park in Adairsville. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the nature walk surrounding Manning Mill Park, and begin a life-long journey to health.

Then go inside the park facility and get a health-age analysis, a five minute back rub, get your blood pressure taken, participate in a Harvard Step Test, and get plenty of health information as you go through the booths representing God’s Laws of Natural Health.

The Gordon Hospital mascot, Mac the Medic, will be there for kid’s safety information. Then make plans to see the acclaimed “Forks Over Knives” movie in the facility’s conference room.

While tickets are free, guests are encouraged to reserve their seats.

Gordon Hospital will be offering discounted lab tests, including Lipid, CMP, CBC, TSH, Glucose/A1C and PSA. These will be done in the morning by appointment only and at a separate location. Results of the lab tests will be ready for pickup at the Expo.

The Church’s Health Ministries Team is hopeful of a good turnout and plans to have many more community events to help this area reduce the waistline, and promote healthier choices for the entire family.

For more information and to reserve movie tickets and lab tests, you can call 470-334-3563 or visit www.AdairsvilleHealthExpo.com.
