A Desoto Avenue man who was found dead in his home this morning is being sent down to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab for an autopsy to confirm his cause of death.

Steve Ramos, 38, was found in his home at 1108 Desoto Ave., earlier today.

Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor explained that even though no evidence of foul play is suspected in the unattended death, the age of the man without any likely medical cause makes an autopsy useful in determining the cause of death.

"Someone within this age range and no definitive reason why they died - he's 38 years old - that's a pretty good cause to send someone down for a post and determine a cause of death," he said.

Proctor said that "the gentleman had some medical problems" when he died.
