His comments Monday were veiled criticism of Obama for his comment in an interview broadcast Sunday.
In an interview with "60 Minutes," Obama said "there are going to be bumps in the road because ... in a lot of these places the one organizing principal has been Islam." Obama was asked about recent events in the Middle East but not specifically about the attack in Libya that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
Romney told ABC News that he couldn't "imagine saying something like the assassination of ambassadors is a bump in the road."
White House spokesman Jay Carney called the GOP criticism desperate.

If Obama is the answer, I don't want to hear the question.
"In case you haven't noticed, I'm driving. I won..you lost...So go sit in the back of the bus and keep your mouth shut!"
Yeah..old Barry...the Uniter, not the Divider, eh? A "different" kind of president..."Change we can believe in."....A bipartisan who can bring both parties together.
What a liar! Right FROM THE START, Obama has shut down the entire political system, ramming his liberal policies and reforms down our throats with unread 1,200 page bills that "no one read," just sign and shut up....If anyone disagrees, he's called a "racist," because, evidently, it's impossible to find fault with a black man's policies...it's gotta be race, right?
It's "my way or the highway," according to Obama...no discussion...no modifications...no disagreeing.
Well, Obama's driving.
Guess that's why these things are just casual "bumps in the road" to Obama.
Too bad he's still driving around with just a learner's permit.
If Obama is the answer, I don't want to hear the question.
