3 charged with felony shoplifting from Piggly Wiggly

Three people were charged with felony shoplifting for allegedly taking food from a local grocery store, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Nina Renee Meredith, 36, of 312-B E. 1st St.; Christopher Lee Wedgeworth, 18, of 873 Ben Mosley Circle, Summerville; and Tranis Kenkade Broughton, 21, of 210 E. 12th St.; are accused of taking the food from Piggly Wiggly on U.S. 27 at about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Wedgeworth was also charged with felony terroristic threats and acts for threatening a witness. Broughton is also facing two charges of failure to appear.

Meredith and Wedgeworth each were released Wednesday on bond. Broughton remained in jail without bond.
