The Rome boutique, located at 15 E. 3rd Ave., will host a meet and greet today from 4 to 7 p.m. with Joan Bradley Reedy, the daughter of Vera Bradley and sister of Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, who started the company that is known for its designer bags.
“She is absolutely one of the most incredible people I’ve met,” said Lee Ann Dempsey, owner of Bella Luna. “She talks with the customers and tells them such interesting stories about her mom and starting the company.”
The event’s purpose is to help raise money for breast cancer research in conjuction with the Breast Center at Floyd Medical Center and Shorter University’s Kappa Chi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha.
Vera Bradley has been a major supporter of breast cancer research through the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A portion of all sales at Bella Luna during today’s event will be donated to benefit the Breast Center.
Dempsey will also have a raffle in October for a prize package that includes a Vera Bradley comforter set, throw pillow and rug, with proceeds going to the Breast Center. Tickets are $5 each.
