The Rome Police Department participated in operation “Protect Not Serve” Thursday, checking all licensed alcohol pouring establishments in the city of Rome for compliance with underage consumption laws.

The joint effort of the Criminal Investigation Division and training division and the Selective Enforcement Unit turned out three servers who were found to be in violation of Rome city ordinance against furnishing alcoholic beverages to persons younger than 21 years of age.

Those cited were: Jessica Reyes, El-Toro Tex Mex Grill, 2115 Shorter Ave.; Hector Escobar, Mi Alazan Mexican Restaurant, 2 Central Plaza; and Brandie Michelle Williams, Stonebridge Grill, 3 Stonebridge Drive.

Each were issued a copy of the charge and released with a court date with the exception of Escobar, who could not provide identification. He was taken to the Floyd County Jail.
