The results of a nearly eight-month remodel were unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning at the Rome Sam’s Club, 2550 Redmond Circle.

The remodeled club expands by 4,500 square feet and includes a café, bakery and photo center. It also features an expanded fresh food department and rotisserie chicken center, new rest­rooms and an improved entrance and exit. The club will offer members everything from quality meats, home meal solutions and fresh side dishes to home decor and fresh-baked items.

“The new design and layout of our club provides a streamlined shopping experience for our members in Rome, Cartersville and surrounding areas,” said Beth Broadaway, Sam’s. “We look forward to continuing to serve our community by providing unparalleled customer service and exceptional values.”

Steve Greer, member services manager also spoke during the ceremonies.

The Rome Sam’s Club employs approximately 145 associates, three of whom have worked there since the original opening 17 years ago.

Broadaway also pointed out that membership levels have remained strong at Sam’s throughout the economic downturn.

As part of the grand re-opening, Sam’s Club distributed $1,000 in support of the Shriners Hospital and Toys for Tots.

“Our club and our associates are a part of the Rome community, and by helping our local organizations we continue to give back,” Broadaway said.

The Armuchee Middle School cheerleaders and Floyd County Sheriff’s office also received $1,000 grants during the program.
