Leddell and Marva Kinnebrew of Rome celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 1 by renewing their vows at Holsey Sinai C.M.E. Church with Rev. Bobby Hall officiating.

A reception followed the ceremony. The anniversary cake, made by their son Dexter and decorated by daughter Paula, featured a cake topper used at Marva’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

Leddell and Marva were married on Sept. 1, 1962 in Rome.

Mrs. Kinnebrew is the former Marva Wade of Cartersville. She graduated from Summer Hill High School and from West Georgia College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She retired in 1997 after 34 years of teaching the Rome City Schools and Tallatoona CAP, Inc. She is the daughter of the late Gartrell and Elena Wade.

Mr. Kinnebrew, a graduate of Main High School, attended Tennessee State University. He worked for Georgia Kraft Co., now International Paper, for 35 years. He is the son of Cornelia Johnson Kinnebrew and late Paul Kinnebrew.

They have four children, Paula Kinnebrew of Stone Mountain, Dexter Kinnebrew of Conyers, Cornita Kinnebrew-Thompson of Lawrenceville and Marlon Kinnebrew of Rome. They have five grandchildren.

Leddell and Marva are active members of Holsey Sinai C.M.E. Church.

Leddell enjoys gardening, hunting and making Brunswick stew. Marva enjoys reading, watching football and basketball on television, visiting her children as well as talking on the phone with her grandchildren.

Especially happy times for the couple have been the births of their children and grandchildren.

They attribute their successful marriage to their love and faith in God.
