A woman and her two year-old child were not seriously hurt when an SUV flipped into a yard on Maple Road just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to Floyd County police:

The driver, who had been heading northbound on Maple, told Floyd County police officer Jason Stansell that she had to swerve to avoid a vehicle that apparently strayed into her lane of traffic. Her car hit the curb and flipped into the side yard of a home in the 3400 block of Maple Road, landing upside down.

Both the driver and her child were able to get out of the SUV and declined treatment from emergency medical personnel.
