Berry Golf: Women's Golf Finishes Round One of Chick-Fil-A Collegiate

The Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational was delayed due to rain on Monday, but all teams completed their rounds. The University of the Cumberlands shot 313 and leads the field. Individually, Sarah Gilliand of Coastal Georgia is first after a one-under par 71 score. Complete Results .PDF

Heavy rains pelted the Rome area on Monday morning. The skies cleared in the afternoon and players teed off about 2 p.m. The last players finished about 8 p.m.

Host Berry College shot 335 and is in 8th place out of 17 teams. Lacey Sheppard fired a 79 and is tied for 11th. Other Berry results were: Nikki Cline, 83, T30; Nicole Wood, 85, T41; Chelsea Hoag, 88, T52; Lauren Buschhorn, 90, T59.

The second and final round starts at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Stonebridge Country Club.
