Rome man charged with child exploitation

Police arrested a man Monday who is accused of sending sexually explicit photos of young girls by computer, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the jail report:

Mark Christopher Ertel, 42, of 8 Butler St. in Rome, was charged with felony counts of sexual exploitation of children as well as electronic pornography and child exploitation.

Ertel is accused of receiving and transmitting pictures of nude girls under the age of 16 to at least two people in Florida.

He remained in jail without bond Monday night.
