Rossville library facing steep cuts, some libraries could shut down

ROSSVILLE — Cherokee Regional Library System Director Lecia Eubanks spoke before the scheduled Walker County commissioner’s meeting recently in a plea for Commissioner Bebe Heiskell to evaluate her budget and reconsider apportioning more to the library in future years.

Eubanks’ latest library woes come on the heels of the city of Rossville’s budget talks, which have all but approved a $12,000 cut to the Rossville library next year, she said.
