Teenager charged with breaking into cars

A Rome teenager is charged with 16 felony counts of entering an automobile and 10 other theft charges for breaking into cars in Floyd County, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Darrius Garrett, 17, of 31 Fortune St., took knives, a gun, GPS systems and other items from cars parked on Horseleg Trail, Oak Crest Trail and other locations on Sept. 21.

In addition to the entering an automobile charges, he is facing two felony theft by taking charges and eight misdemeanor theft by taking charges.

Garrett remained in jail Thursday night without bond.
