Calhoun Elementary School announced this week that Tricia Waters was named the school’s “Teacher of the Year” for 2013-2014.

The announcement was made at a faculty meeting as finalists Cherri Rains, Brittany Anderson, and Tricia were all recognized and honored by their colleagues.

Waters works with third- and fourth-grade students this year and has been instrumental in helping math teachers with the transition to the new Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS) curriculum.

Waters is married to Steven Waters, a 5th Grade teacher at CES, and they have two children, Alyssa and Junior, both students within Calhoun City Schools
