Two Gordon County men were convicted of felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and weapons violations as well as burglary charges in relation to the November 5, 2011 murder of Jason David Hammond, an amateur magician, on Union Grove Church Road in Gordon County.

District Attorney T. Joseph Campbell of the Cherokee County Judicial Circuit said that after seven days of trial and nine hours of jury deliberations over two days the jury passed down guilty verdicts for both men. However, they were both acquitted of felony malice murder charges.

The punishment for felony murder and malice murder is the same. It doesn't look like they are getting away with anything.
