A Cedartown woman was in stable condition Monday night after having been involved in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on Ga. 101 at about 7:30 a.m.

According to Floyd County Police officer Dale Thompson:

Fannie Fain, 69, was driving her 2001 Ford Taurus north on Highway 101 when she struck the rear end of a dump truck. The driver of the dump truck fled the scene.

She was treated in the emergency room at Floyd Medical Center and admitted for observation.

With all due respect.

The driver of the dump truck may have been unaware of the fact that the truck had been struck.

The driver of the car struck the rear of the truck; that's failure to be in control of your vehicle or following too close or some-such.

Seems to me, that considering both of my statements, the dump truck driver probably did not flee the scene.

I hope the lady is OK. She might consider surrendering her right to drive due to age.

With all due respect???????? You may have a point as far as the dump truck driver being unaware they had been hit. But it is insulting for you to suggest Ms. Fain should stop driving at 69 years YOUNG. There are a myriad of reasons for a person to rear end another vehicle, none of which have to do with a person's age. Seriously???????
